History
Ten Mile Lake Resort and Steakhouse is located on Ten Mile Lake in Dalton, MN in the Southern county of Otter Tail.
The lake was named because originally it was located 10 Miles from a trading post.
The resort has been in the family and operated since 1906. Although it has changed tremendously with the times,
the family spirit remains constant. The original owners under the business name of Camp Prohosky were Anthona and Anna Prohosky
They passed on the resort to their daughter Nellie and her husband Fred Schultz in 1922 and renamed the business Ten Mile Lake Resort.
They had 2 sons who took over the resort in 1946;
Jerry and his wife Shirley (children Susan, Lisa, Pat and Mike) and Bob and his wife Anne (children Camille, Steve, Don, Trisha, Tim and Tom).
In 1962 the Steakhouse was built thus renaming the business again Ten Mile Lake Resort and Steakhouse.
Bob Schultz passed away suddenly April 15, 1982 and Jerry and Shirley were sole owners.
In 1991 Jerry and Shirley’s identical twin sons (Pat and Mike) took over the resort.
Pat (Lisa) have 3 children Ben, Jenna , Jared and Mike (Linda) have 2 children Courtney and Sydney.
On August 20, 2005 Pat Schultz passed away suddenly leaving Mike and Linda as owners
